Questions about the new trolling boat rental and DLC

My question about the Dnipro rental vs the dlc version is if you can use other rods in the holders of the dlc version. I ask this because I have seen many vids wherre they are using the dlc boat version (beta testers) and have bottom or float rods in the holders. I tried this with the rental and it won't let you put them in the holders. Is it a rental, dlc or beta thing?

Anyone try the dlc boat on another lake to see if trolling is allowed there too?

[EDIT] Answered my own question by rewatching the video. He trolled with the Dnipro dlc boat to get the pike, but then switched to the Congo dlc boat for the monster fish. Guess I never noticed that since I was more focused on the actual fishing and simply assumed that you could use non spinning rods.

Interesting. I watched a beta vid where he was going after one of the monster fish and he had 2 bottom rods in the holders and one in hand. I'm gonna watch it again to be sure, but like I said, I saw several vids with this.

It's really no big deal if it only allows for trolling. I just wanted to see if there was something extra with the dlc version.

I just rewatched one of the vids and saw what was wrong. He trolled the pike in the Dnipro dlc boat, but then switched to the Congo dlc boat for the monster/bottom rods.

Another bite of the apple, troll with DLC boat and DLC rods, can't use other rods which are the same types as those from the DLC for trolling.
So far kept the boat, rods and reels but sold the the net, jacket and hat for bait coin. Will sell the crap boat as well later, i use the Congo boat in that map.
Waste of time really buying the DLC.

So, you are saying you can't use in game bought spinning rods to troll with the DLC boat? I didn't get that from what I've read. I've read that you can only use spinning rods not that you had to use the DLC spinning rods.

Ozzy when I tried would not let me had to leave and set up DLC rods and used those. If you can fine but I finished with the map, not into catching tiddy winks, though 106 lb Wels catfish' and 105 lb Beluga' did add some excitement on light tackle.

I used all sorts of spinning lure setups on the rental version from fresh water to salt water.

Might a been glitch I had, but rather use the big boat in the map.
Not lures we were talking about but the rods/holders for luring in Dnipro map. It wouldn't let me use normal spin/cast rods placement in the holders.
Will have to try again still got plenty of days left to go there.

I trolled with the Tropicana rods with cranks, walkers and cicadas just fine. I even used the heaviest salt water spin rods (forgot the name) just fine.

Thanks will try again later just happen first up entering the map. Not complaining, if it doesn't work i just move on and try other things. Actually I want to use the boat/holders in BCI I think it would be great.

I might get myself the DLC for Christmas then. I just got the year Black Friday Premium+ for $20 and said I wouldn't spend anymore for awhile but what the heck.
