Travel costs - how does it work?
I paid for 5 days travel cost for a site, but when I clicked today the cost of travel came up again and sure enough once I clicked travel the money was deducted. SO I tried again with 2 days - it took the two day cost, I logged out restarted and again the cost was taken. So how does travel cost work please?

only pick one day and extend it if you want to stay longer. i've picked 3 day stays before and left on day 2 simply because i wanted to go somewhere else, an expensive trip.

I think when you head home and the game adds up all the xp and money you made on that trip, it ends that trip, not entirely certain.

While the license covers actual real world days, the travel cost only covers in-game days, which you probably didn't notice was a thing because the game makes absolutely no effort to tell you about the time/day mechanic which is accessible by pressing T at a lake. The travel cost is a lot to get there, but the cost for passing days while already at the lake is much cheaper. With this system, you can log out (without leaving the lake) and log back in the next real day at the same in-game time you left off without having to pay more money (like you would with a license). I'm not sure why everyone else in this comment section is so dense, you were quite clear with your question.

It tells you about travel costs, yes, but no mention on how in-game days work or how to skip them.

I do read actually. And it does NOT explain why you click more than 1 day, get charged for it, but when you come back you have to pay again. So perhaps read first before making sweeping statements.
