I've already completed all the missions except the one I stated above. I know there are other ways to get a hat, but it's bad game design to have a holiday event where you can't finish a mission unless you go do a non-event mission. I've gotten hats in the past, but deleted them as they were taking up storage slots. If the Snowfighter Challenge is what I think it is, that what seems impossible. Is it the one where you have to hit other players with Snowballs? There is no way to Aim, so finding the right spot to hit someone is very hard; I couldn't figure out where the snowball would land.
As I said, it's a Christmas Mission, which requires [/i]NON-CHRISTMAS[/i] items. Not every player is going to have a Hat. I remove items I don't need from my inventory to make room for items I DO need, as storage isn't infinite. I'd need thousands of slots to keep every item I've gotten in this game.
If you want to make having a Hat a requirement, then make it part of the Christmas Missions. Now, if I want to finish the "Runaway Gingerbread Men" mission, I need to go do old missions to get another hat. I've already completed all the other Xmas Missions, so this doesn't affect me. Think about newer players trying to complete these missions when they're this badly designed. Also, tossing Groundbait or Hitting players with Snowballs is another issue. There are no Crosshairs to aim with, and you have to guess where it might go.
Events have never been new player friendly. That's why they carry over every year. There are options in the game to win free hats. Why does it matter if you have to do it outside of the event mission? You would still have to complete a mission to get the hat and from the sounds of it you will just sell or delete it anyway so why bother?
Throwing snoballs is a bit tricky but the best way I found was to get right next the person and throw about 30%. Should hit every time. It's been years, so I hope I remembered correctly.
