Santa's Headlamp ruins Xmas Missions
I'm not sure why there is a requirement of a Hat to wear Santa's Headlamp. I don't have any hats, as I sell unneeded items to make sure I have room in my Home Storage. I won't be able to do the mission, "Runaway Gingerbread Men", because FP is requiring a non-mission item in addition to the mission item. This is a very bad design. Anyway, the whole Xmas Mission setup is like pulling teeth, and the rewards were underwhelming, to say the least. This will be the last year I participate.

I don't do much of the events. But, yes, sounds like a game breaker. I honestly don't think there is a solution either, but maybe someone is more into this type of thing?

In my experience, Santa’s Headlamp is of very little use. When completing this mission, a bait is given as a reward - Mega Cookie Groundbait - and it is less effective than tokens for Santa's phonograph. In my opinion, it is better to carry out another mission - to collect stardust using Santa's glasses to get tokens. When using them, event fish are caught faster.

You can get a hat with a flashlight slot by completing "Snowfighter III" holiday achievement. Hats are somewhat hard to come by but they are mission rewards for certain mastering missions as well.

I've already completed all the missions except the one I stated above. I know there are other ways to get a hat, but it's bad game design to have a holiday event where you can't finish a mission unless you go do a non-event mission. I've gotten hats in the past, but deleted them as they were taking up storage slots. If the Snowfighter Challenge is what I think it is, that what seems impossible. Is it the one where you have to hit other players with Snowballs? There is no way to Aim, so finding the right spot to hit someone is very hard; I couldn't figure out where the snowball would land.

You had hats but sold or deleted them. How is that their fault?

When you get headlamp working next thing you need to do is figure out how to use groundbait, what you want to do is equip slingshot and do not throw it by hand. When GB hits the water you will see magic fog above the water and that's the spots you need to fish in, from my experience groundbait works the same as jukebox and I never had a problem getting event fish using one or another one.

As I said, it's a Christmas Mission, which requires [/i]NON-CHRISTMAS[/i] items. Not every player is going to have a Hat. I remove items I don't need from my inventory to make room for items I DO need, as storage isn't infinite. I'd need thousands of slots to keep every item I've gotten in this game.

If you want to make having a Hat a requirement, then make it part of the Christmas Missions. Now, if I want to finish the "Runaway Gingerbread Men" mission, I need to go do old missions to get another hat. I've already completed all the other Xmas Missions, so this doesn't affect me. Think about newer players trying to complete these missions when they're this badly designed. Also, tossing Groundbait or Hitting players with Snowballs is another issue. There are no Crosshairs to aim with, and you have to guess where it might go.

Events have never been new player friendly. That's why they carry over every year. There are options in the game to win free hats. Why does it matter if you have to do it outside of the event mission? You would still have to complete a mission to get the hat and from the sounds of it you will just sell or delete it anyway so why bother?

Throwing snoballs is a bit tricky but the best way I found was to get right next the person and throw about 30%. Should hit every time. It's been years, so I hope I remembered correctly.

I am getting them aiming a little to the left, throwing by hand with minimal power, about a 23' telescopic rod length away from person.

Get up close from behind point blank shot 1/3 power
Julian Dec 30, 2024 @ 3:24pm
Use a fishing rod (think I used a Zeus spinning rod) to get the same distance every time, try to be same ground level as the victi.... I mean willing participant (think I aimed for the legs). You can only snowball a person once a (IRL) day.
Sup_DiM0N Dec 30, 2024 @ 3:51pm
To snowball them fast keep changing your language it will spawn you in different room so you don't have to wait for new players to arrive or change your location.
