Fishing on shore

why is there only one place on shore to fish, in the japan map. this map is big and there lots of islands to fish off of. instead of a boat all the time. some times i like to fish on shore set my rod holder down, and fish. it would be nice to add more places to fish in here. then on a boat all the time. there should be no limit where you fish.

No one here besides the creators/developors know this answer.
Besides, we don't even know which map you're talking about!!

Adapt & adjust your gameplay. Because they're not going to play with any of the maps that are already there.

I recall getting off the boat at the big sand island to look for the grave with the coordinates for the monster squid. Can you not fish there? I admit I never tried to set my rod holder down and I didn't try to equip a rod.

I understand what you are saying. But you are asking a question right?
And even though the discission is open to everyone, like you say, you won't really get the answer you look for here.
Even if a mod comes by, unless he is on the inside a lot, it won't be 100% official.

I'm in Japan right now & if I find places to fish on shore other than what we know already, I'll let you know.

It is possible but to my opinion cannot be done successfully. I tried it already but the water there is much too shallow, just between 40 centimeters and 2 meters within the range you can cast a bottom rod. You can´t even reach the sandy island from each direction with the boat as the boat may run aground before sometimes.

Have you ever tried to fish from shore on tropical island in real life? Only thing you will catch is small fish and reef fish because the island usually protected by the reef where the waves are breaking and from shoreline you'll be casting into shallow lagoon. My kids did just that month ago at the Kauai island, they caught bunch of needle fish, lizard fish, flounders, baby jack or trevally

+1 They should also add some more species of fish. Much of the map is barren.
