Can't equip hooks

Everything was fine untill level 3, I was able to switch hooks and bait no problem. At level 3 I bought new line and a new pole, and now I am unable to use a hook and float anymore. I have the pole equipped with a reel, put line on the reel, but when i try to equip a hook it says "Can't equip item". I switched back to my old pole setup and it can't equip hooks now either. All I can use is a spoon. Anyone know why this is happening?

This is because you bought a spinner setup. You need to get a bass jig or a spoon or a jig head with some of those rubberie thingies (dont know the name of those) to be able to use that setup.

As I said though, I switched back to my old equipment and still could not use hooks.

What does it say when you changed it back?

can you make a screenshot (and save it on steam) so i can see your setup. Please press the > button so that i can see the item names as well.

Then i will try it out my self to see whats up.

btw. you can just type the item names. as well the names of the hooks

I'm having the same issue...I bought new rod and reel and I can't use it cause I can't equip the hooks. Line goes on fine. I can use the stock setup just fine but i can't use my new stuff why is this?

Do you want to equip from your inventory or from home?
When you wan't to equip from home the new stuff be sure that you have enough space in your inventory. You can buy a bigger bag or put your stuff you don't need via drag&drop to your home inventory (without any limits I think)

That rod is set up for Lure fishing, you will need to equip a Nero, or other float fishing rod to use hooks and bobbers.

I mean truthfully it shouldn't matter. On a side note how is it set up for lures? does it say somewhere that I missed or something?

I take it because there is no bobber slot its meant for lures only?

Has this game never heard of sinkers and bottom fishing?

You can not equip a casting rod with a spinning reel, it requires a casting reel.
