Can you play as a female character?

Checked discussion and this wasn't mentioned anywhere. Used to fish a lot with my brothers and father. Saw the screenshot that had boy clothes and a male hand fishing. I fish in a lot of MMORPGs just to fish to relax. Would really like a life like simulator that would at least give some options for the gamer girls out there.
If not, while this game is still in alpha, I'd love to see the addition. Looks beatiful.

Also, no, you can't currently play as a female. Default model is just your generic white male with a plaid shirt.
