What the hell is "twitching", and how the hell do i do it

OK. I know I might be a little bit dumb when asking this, but I really need an instruction on twitching. I saw people do it on youtube, but I have no idea how to do it, or the mouse - keyboard combination to do it. Can somebody help me with this :)

You have to tap your right mouse button or the one that you hit when you get a bite, do that on and off while reeling in your lure.

But when i do it my lure just gets reeled in and pulled out of the water

There are two ways to Twitch. The easiest is to hold down the right mouse button and reel in like stop and go, using the left mouse button. This is usually best done with the reel set to two speed. You pulse the button, reel a bit, then stop, reel a bit, then stop, etc all the while holding down right mouse to keep the rod up.
You can also reel in constantly and pulse the right mouse button. This seems to work best at 1 reel speed.
As you reel in with either you will get 1-3 dots showing it working, and it displays "twitching". Using the first method the longer you reel in before stopping the more dots you get. If you hold it down too long the dots and text will stop, showing your timing and technique is wrong. The same goes for if you stop too long.
