Are SPOD rods, FEEDER rods and GROUNDBAIT really worth it?

I assume they're worth learning about and using but can I ignore them { or some } and be okay without them?

I think the PVA mesh + spod can bring some great carp. Altho, im not sure which does the main work and how to optimize mixes either, most seems to work in most situations, given the temperature may matter.

Like I said I fish carp with bottom rods and use feeders instead of sinkers. I don't use a Spod setup or even carry one. I use shop bought groundbait in the feeders and don't mix any. To show the so called "realitism" of the game the method feeder can only be used on a carp rod. LOL

Edit: I don't even need to use a feeder for carp. I can use a normal bottom, or float, setup with baits like peas and corn.
