Hello fishers...
I want to take a breake from sturgeon grind @ san joaquin delta

To land Chino Salomon Unique and still get max cash/xp
What setup at lvl 39 would you recommend? I also get the bigger net now..
Bottom, Float, Lure?

Im currently cataching 25kg Sturgeons with Bottom sniper 300 and a megatank 6000
so im not afraid that stuff will break very easy.. Since we dont use max drag..

If you can catch sturgeon, then you can catch whatever's in Alaska. Bottom does work, but I find lures work even better for me.

So a lure/spinning or float setup.. with equal kg as the sturgeon setup.. thanks..
Need to do something else befor i get nuts on this grind..
Put a few bottom rods on a stand. If you don't have a bite alarm stand yet put bells on them and then use a spinning rod with lures while waiting on hits. Just a FYI though, gear has no impact on how much money you get for a fish, just XP.

Just look at the fish records for Alaska and it's like 76lbs then check biggest sturgeon in CA like 55lbs and now connect the dots.

Spin fishing works the best in alaska. I fish mostly for the small and mid size salmon. the x-series #4.0 spoon and x-series bullet spinner work really well. the 4 inch shads work pretty good as well. for rod setup i use a reel and line that's 32lb. a bit oversized but i can bring the smaller ones in quickly but the bigger fish do put up a fight. the reels below 30lb have low recovery and are frustrating to use there as you will lose fish because of it.

My favorite setup was a 19lb reel (forget the name of it) with 19lb test. this reel has 49 recovery and worked excellent there. this doesn't work well anymore as you can't max drag and has become undersized as you have to scale back the drag so the reel becomes 16.6 drag and takes forever to bring in the bigger fish. some of the uniques and trophys get to 35-40lbs. I can usually fill my 550lb keepnet in one day and get around 40- 50k per day, not quite as good as st croix but still pretty good.

If i'm fishing for the chinook i use a 42lb reel setup. not sure what you can buy at lvl39. i bought this game in 2018 and bought 6 dlcs back when they were super cheap so i have some rods and reels you may not have at your level.

Well im there and im getting good stuff on different lures/spoons and so on.
But early i watched guides reccommended bottom setups. So i took my setup from sturgeon grind with me. ive got spawn sacks as bait. But i have not gotten a single bite on it..
Have de changed this in an update? or do i need to put like a open/closed feeder instead of sinker?

Again, I do mainly lure fishing in Alaska, but I will throw out a bunch of shallow bobber lines and let them flow with the current. Bottom fishing works too, but I have much better success lure and shallow bobber fishing there.

Bottom fishing with spawn sack, shrimps, minnows or even flies or mayflies should work without problems. Perhaps it is a matter of hook size. Try hooks from 4/0 to 6/0 (chinooks may accept even 8/0 hooks). I also recommend not to do bottom fishing near the rocks in the water. There you are snagged too often and maybe you don´t even notice it. So always check your rods if you havent got a bite within 5 minutes. Also to my experience using feeders instead of sinkers is better as with feeders your bait stays better at the fishing spot (which is unreal and very contrary to real life fishing (but it is what it is - a game)).

Hope this helps. Good luck!

I wouldn't bother with a float setup in Alaska as the flow is too great in most places (one exception). Bottom rods on a stand with shrimp and spin at the same time, bullet spinner or walker/popper in the shallow areas. Chinook will give you the biggest problem.
