Which JigHead to use
First I would like to say I'm sorry if this is in the wrong location, and apologize for any typing mistakes as this is on my phone.

I have been lure fishing bass with the bass specific lure top level 9, where I decided to try out the jigheads. I bought the #2, #1, #1/0 along with the all of the corresponding types of bait (1 of each type. Ex. Grub). Although I can't figure out which bait I should use for which fish.

When I was asking around people laughed at me for not knowing but no one would explain, so I'm hoping someone here will have the answer.

So far I've tried using each of them to catch bass (even the type in the description says its good for bass) and haven't had any luck. I want to move into other fish but I want to know what I need To use first.

Thank you to everyone who's read all of this, and a thank you to anyone who responds.

For bass myself I use a 7g bass jig #2/0 and seem to get nice size bass from that otherwise I'd check out the pike challenge and use a red and white spoon it works wonders.

The rubber jigs (shad, grub, worm, tube) are somewhat tricky to get used to. I started and gave up several times to learn these lures but i got some of them (shad and grub) to be useful in the end. Never got more then very hesitating bites without hooking on tube and worm.

Bass i got with shads and grubs of all 3 sizes.

Look in the description witch hook size will fit for the rubber part and choose a fitting hook size. Bassjigs give a good hint about useful hooksizes too.

Weight of jighead you can choose from desired casting length and how deep the water is/ how deep you want to fish, i.e. you want to fish in deep water close to bottom -> choose heavy jighead.

Retrival is the most tricky part in fishing with jigs. Shads have almost no movement of their own, grubs have some movement in tail. Movement is the most important part of triggering a fisch to bite. For bass i had most luck with some kind of "lift&drop" letting the jig jump from the bottom to midwater or even higher, let it fall down again, let it rest a little moment and repeat. Use both mouse buttons to archieve this effect. For "twitching" you dont stop to reel in and use the "strike" mousebutton frequently. "Stop&go" also works, in midwater as well as with bottom contact. However, dont care for a method name to much, you can do exactly the same thing and the game will give it a lot of different names depending on depht and casting length and other factors.

To practice it could be best to go to mudwater river, last songs of summer, and start with the smallest jigs. You know that you got it right when you start to catch bass almost everywhere, not just in the "spots".

Hope that helps:)
Disclaimer: I am not the big jig expert, if somebody read this and start to laugh, please correct me where you see fit. Tips on how to get tube and worm to work are very welcome.

main thing about jigging is to make the jig do a jiggle hence the name. finding what works is just as easy water color vs. jig color.

Bass are pigs and think of it like this bigger hook bigger bass.

I jig for bass all the time. Hook size isn't that important. The weight of the jig is what matters most. hHeavier jigs sink faster. Weight affects movement on the bottom.Get all you can. Try them out, Different conditions dictate jig weight. I use 3 "worms with good results. Read how to worm fish for bass. I have found this game mimics RL worm fishing for bass very well. Good luck.
