How does the lure action mechanic work (i.e. white circles)
Technique = Colorado, stop and go for trout.

Sometime when I cast, I wait for my lure to land, and after two iterations of stop and go, 3 white circles pop up indicating maximum effectiveness. Great.

However, sometimes after two revolutions, I end up with 1 white circle and no matter what I do, I cant work my way up to 3 white circles, even though Im deploying the technique perfectly.

And on other occasions, I start off with 2 white circles, which eventually turn to 3 white circles.

The last scenario is sometimes I screw up and I lose all my circles, or it changes from stop and go to twitching, and I try to start over (I get 1-2 white circles).

But my question - how does this game mechanic work exactly? How come I am unable to improve a retrieve where I start off with 1 white circle? If I start with 1 white circle, how do I reset it so I can start trying to get 3 white circles without having to recast. Thanks guys.

you maybe wanna try to drop the lure for 15 sec+ or make a huge push up to the top with speed set on 4.

push up kill your casting distance in a sec but works pretty well for me.

the circles mean that the way your lure is acting is very sttractive to the fish that are near it.. which in turn could mean youre doing it pretty well. but if your fish dont liek your method they wont bite or show three dots no matter how perfect youre doing it. change it up a bit. when i change it up just stop reeling and everything let it set back down to the bottom and then restart so you can save line.

when you have a single circle that means youre getting close to a good fish, when improving on the dots it doesnt just raise . ittl go away then come back and youll see 2 or maybe three dots. a way to help this process on its way is to stop and then start it back up again. or pause for a couple seconds wait for the dots to go away ittl come back up. the indicator ive noticed lies sometimes to. pay attention to the tip of your rod and how muchyour tension meter lights up . when u see it light uup hit the shift key to strike a fish

Are you saying the push up resets the circles? I dont want to let my lure sit for 15 seconds. I'd rather recast. But what about reeling in at max speed set on 4. Does this reset the circles?

And also, is this working as intended. How come I cant go from one circle to three circles if I am working the lure correctly.

Hey!

Frankly speaking some things with hydrodynamic are not perfect.

And the dots show with the usage of fuzzy logic how close your lures trajectory under water is to the ideal trajectory which should attract certain species of predatory fish.

see pretty much says youre close to a fish and how much that particualr fish likes your lure technique. if they dont like it change it up.

alex's answer stick to my feeling. If you started a bad move and then improve it, it should calculate avegare luck attraction. Wich can still be... bad if you made a very bad start ( 1 dot )

Best way to "reset" a lure motion ( only my opinion ) is to ruin it by any way. i've noticed that going straight forward doesnt ruin the motion as much as a long drop or insane push up as i said.

try and find is my advice ;)

Well its kind of buzz kill putting your eye balls on the white circles. I have a 30 inch screen and cant see the rod in the middle if I'm focused on the far right of the screen. The best game mechanic would be to watch your rod tip so you can see the strike and get exited. Using your rod tip and line to get the right lure action is more authentic and fun IMO (like in real life, when you feel your jig hit the bottom, or your line goes slack you know it's landed). Focusing on the white circles and the drag meter/colors on the far right of the screen detracts from the game and experience.

Ideas:

1) Increase the drag noise so that you really here it when you get a bite (store option, louder clickers anyone?). I love a loud clicker IRL.

2) Make the white circles ALWAYS visible so that you can glance over at anytime to see how they are doing and go right back to our rod tip, vs staring at that spot waiting for the circles to pop up. You miss a lot of rod tip action waiting for the circles to show themselves....

3) If you have a slack line when you get a bite, make the line tightening visual more pronounced vs just having people rely on the drag color meter. That way I can watch the rod tip and when I see my slack line tighten quickly and the color meter go up via peripheral vision, I know I'm getting a bite.

I just tried to catch some fish. I cast my spinning rod and i do the twicthing tactic and the 3 white circles dont appear. Does anybody know how to fix it?

Don't worry too much, the fish will still take on one white circle.

Get the retrieve right, just experiment as it's hard to describe in words.
Try setting the reel speed a little higher for heavier lures.

When you cast out as your lure is sinking press and hold the strike button whilst holding down strike button reel speed 2 or 3 you will see its a great technique to twitch or lift n drop by simply reeling in using stop n go when you try this method you will see exactly what I mean good luck
