Having read it i'm still not sure whether programmable mice and their macros are allowed or not.

Непонятен пункт 4.02.

Если я нашел рыбу которая дает опыта больше чем другие виды я не должен её ловить?
Какое наказание за ловлю прибыльной в плане опыта, золота, кредитов рыбы? Бан?)

Kikstall, I believe it just means if you found a bug/glitch that let you catch that particular kind of fish easily or more often than you should be able to, then that would be considered an exploit and should not be used. If you are not doing anything special to get the 'good' fish , then you should be okay.

When you catch a big Fish ......put it back to Water and Exit the Game....and wait until a Patch resolves the issue^^

The following actions are prohibited in game:
4.01. Using bots, clickers, macros, keyboard and mouse recorders, or any other similar methods to accumulate credits and experience without the participation or with passive participation of the player within the fishing trip. (Excessive and repetitive passive play)

That would be no.

does this:

4.03. Intentionally informing participants of the opposing team through chat, or voice chat, the location of fish caught and tackle used by the same team and its progress.

And if the user is participating and more than passively, such as aiming to cast, deciding on the timing of retrieval, during the fight, etc has the distinction been met?

Unless they Specifically say you can use a macro from your gaming mouse. it's no

I have to disagree. If it were then it would state any use of them is against the rules. It says use of them without the participation of or excessively passive play. That isn't a flat out and direct no by any means.

One click for one action is usually the standard rule for most games.

That's not even remotely true. Respectfully. That's wishful thinking by purist who want it for this game. At best.

The SteelSeries World of Warcraft Wireless M.M.O. Gaming Mouse is a finely crafted tool, freeing the citizens of Azeroth from wires while still delivering the perfect weapon for your battles and adventures across all your MMO worlds. Featuring proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless technology and outstanding battery life, it can also charge while you play in wired mode. Brilliant illumination on both the mouse and the charging pedestal functions with 4 levels of intensity and pulsation. 11 programmable buttons feature the ability to be customized via the SteelSeries Engine and work with all MMOs.

That's Blizzard, a company with basically unlimited resources and millions of customers.

If you want to chance it thats on you, but make sure you read the part where it says:

The "Automated Anti-Bot Reporting System" is the system that actively scans the game logs searching for players who use automated bots, clickers, macros, keyboard and mouse recorders, or any other similar methods to accumulate credits and experience without the participation or with passive participation of the player.

All requests relating to ban cancellation or minimizing the punishment period, laid by the system, will be ignored.

There really is no chance involved quite honestly. I can have a 32? different macros all set up to do the same thing at different intervals. That and casting/retrieving at different times would make it nigh indistinguishable from regular play. You only have so long to do X action to succeed at presentation or setting the hook so with enough variance it's sealed. Those 32 macros would appear as 32 only if they were 1 string long. You could theoretically have a much larger loop. Increasing them exponentially while still maintaining functionality.

It also in that paragraph you quoted says without the participation of or with passive participation of the player.

A macro doesn't necessarily mean either of those requirements are met. Without a player being at the keyboard it's simply a bot. No other word for it. A bot is against the rules in most games. Obviously.

Passive participation of the player would mean about the same thing with minimal effort such as running and ending or restarting a bot or a script. Being at the keyboard is more of a token act in case of administrative query or for minimal maintenance.

Aiming/casting/retrieving/hook setting/fighting isn't passive. Nor would running a macro in between doing those be.

I'm not being argumentative but the rules are open to interpretation as they are worded. If the game takes off and you have 50000 people playing you better have the rules laid out in concrete.

And if banning macro mice is the final decision I have to call out the wisdom in that choice. People are going to use their hardware. Blizzard didn't bother investing in trying to stop people from using their hardware and Alex is going to be successful at it? Even gathering a sizeable audience who would follow the rules is difficult enough. Sure, many will play coy and suggest they will, while the crafty will do exactly as laid out in paragraph one.

I don't think a lot of gamers know that absolutely everything you do is tracked for EVERY game you play. Up to and including how many steps you take and everything else under the sun. Always remember this.
