Trophy Bluegill: wanted....

I've got a gap in my trophy collection... when trying to catch trophy bluegill I keep getting catfish and largemouth bass. is there a time place and tackle that works?

To my knowledge, I know Trophy Bluegills have been caught on small casting spoons (#2) and small slop spoons. And of course I'd also assume that a trophy takes the same bait as the normal ones as well. But, personally I am also in the same boat with you (so to speak haha) and have yet to catch a Trophy Bluegill as well. But that's one of the cool things about this game, is that you still never know what will happen to a point. For example: the other day, I was fishing for Channel Cats, just passin time and enjoying myself, when I set the hook on one that suddenly gave my reel fits haha. I was like "whoa, this one is a fighter". Got it in, ended up being my very first Trophy Channel Cat at 6.7lbs. And last night, as putzin around on Emerald Lake, pulled in my first Trophy Pumpkinseed haha.

I had a trophy? ... probably it was, need to check, bluegill on spoon. Very accidentally of course, had no intention to catch it. LOL surprise.

Thank you for your replies. It turns out that I needed to cast out farther towards the boats (50-60ft.) after a a few tries I caught it. I used bobber and cricket bait with short lead.
