Bots and automated catch systems
Hey!

If some of you guys think we do not know or see bots or automated catchers you are wrong.

Automated results and bot results shall be erased and users may be banned.

Please, stop using these tools before we release the fix (which is soon), because after we do you may get a permaban.

Best regards, Alex

We analyze methods and monitor. So expect some free slots in leaderboards.

Where do yall stand on macros for lure patters?

Personaly I think its silly to use anything like this....but I have seen a few people talking about using macros to get perfect jig at 3 dots. Is this detectable on yall side? If so will it also be banable?? I do hope so. Would hate to see tounaments decided by who has the better macro software...

Some things can be initialized ( lure weight, reel ratio/speed, ect...) but, seems to me, the"perfect 3 dots" has to do with things that could not be initialized and macro could not know such as lure depth/water bodies depth and lure distance from reel ? And if so are those who are "promoting it" just Know-it-all/Attention Grabbers/Drama Queens ?

the game doesn't always interpret the motions as the desired retrieval. There are a lot of times i'm doing full on lift&drop and it's registering as twitch or even slow&straight. I think anyone claiming to make such macros are blowing smoke. It's not worth the effort to try to make a macro to do it perfectly and much easier to just do it by hand.

I agree 100%. I do not believe the games display of the presentation tech. you are using is totally accurate yet. And I , also, agree some just like to blow smoke.

It very well could be someone blowing smoke...but with the way catching fish is right now you could very well use a macro to some sucess...as all the factors the maco could not contol could be easy to set up each time ya go to spot. Would take very little tuning to get a macro working in say Colorado to pull rainbows out..

Either way...was curious as to the devs standpoint on them.

IMO using any other tool, macros, programs and so on that was not built in the game is banable in all of its forms.. that simple.

Programmable mice are pretty standard for all gaming mice nowadays. In a f2p game with that in mind banning everyone whos gonna use their mouse functions seems quite a task.

thats just keybind and you still press a button just not 2 or 3 buttons.. but if your record a chain/combo of buttons set up on 1 button and the mouse software is running a button combo for you. then its a macro.

I use a naga and still do every thing myself. tild key is pressing my mouse wheel to the left thats all. its the defualt setting for my mouse (i think)

edit- yup it is..

I haven't ever seen a game on Steam attempt to legislate a players ability to use their mouse. I could see many people having one then using it and getting banned. Steam would be issuing a lot of refunds for premium time under those circumstances. At least its a hypothesis on why no other games, and im well over 100 owned and played, at this point has attempted it.

Maybe a disclaimer would be needed before or at the download screen.

I agree, has me a wee bit on edge cause of the brand of mouse i use. I guess though as long as im the one doing things myself and not using razers software to do it for me then i should be fine.

No it's easy to make a macro on a G600 mouse to do lift and drop it just takes a little adjustment on each river zone and changing gear. but no where near a bot as I still have to press bottons reel in when I have a bite, it's just a little easier on my old joints to use.

So i'd like a little confirmation on what is classed as bot and what's not?
My idea of a bot is a programe that does everything while your not there, which isn't a macro

a lot of games have said they would ban players using a logitech g15 keyboard macro keys. im not so sure that would work here, becuase unlike a game thats casting spells or something over and over tilla monster is dead, this game requires the hook to be set etc. and that couldnt work until a macro ended till it reliunshes control to you again. that said i wouldnt be surprised at people making some bots for this game or trying to do something similar. run into this will almost every online game. at present i dont know what it would win them tho.. not like they can sell or give away cash or gold or items. just ruin the leaderboards or hurt winners of the coming tourneys i guess. or just doing it to be an ass like the guys who cheated and hacked on thehunter.
