Olcha this tool is mainly used so a fish does not suffer. When fly fishing my uncle would use one of these tools if he knew he was going to keep the fish. This way the fish would not have to suffer a long death or sufficate, if out of water.
Its actually a rather humane way of fishing if you know you are going to keep the fish. Its one swift blow right above the eyes to kill the fish.
To the op, not sure it really has a use in game.
Well most European players are going to just have to get used to the fact these are American lakes at the moment as well and we do not allow that kind of fishing over here. And I applaud you for keeping to the humane way of doing it. I personally am into conservation and always catch and release.
Here the states really push for catch and release and conservation and not keeping what you catch so they have rules and laws to keep fishing "humane"..like PA bans all use of barbed hooks for this reason.
