Where and how do we catch the new gars?

Just need a little info about where and how to get them, been trying the methods used in the events and they do not seem to be working, even tried diferent methods and they don't work either.

Damn, whatever happened to "learning"? Just fish for them using any info you can find while you are fishing. Experiment. Look at the baits that say they attract gar. That's really it. Hell, you want someone just to put them on the hook for you as well? What's the fun of a game if someone just gives you all the answers??

2/0 hook, dead mice, 10 pm, pikes challenge, 25 in leader, 20 lb braid, cast to right side of branch middle of the river past 32 ft

The normal one can weight up to 15kg, the trophy may go well above 25kg =O

The wiki lists their max weight as 50kg, which most likely means that once we get a lake that contains uni gars they will weigh up to that.

Thats not the only thing they can be caught on, you know. ;-)The other baits work as well. Read the bait descriptions, you'll notice some have Gar listed. Those are the ones you can use. For example, look at the description of Large Cut bait.
Also, look at this pic of a Florida Gar I caught earlier:

Think they are a bit shallower. 10-24in leader. (30-60cm)
