There is no "winner" in this game. And level locked gear would stop people from "buying their way". Premium currently get 50% xp boost... would that not be "pay your way to the top"
If your talking about buying your way to the Top 100... i dont see that being an issue, most of the top people play 10+hrs every day, and catch 200-800 fish every day. How would unlocking the lakes change that?
Just give that option.
Gear also is needed for the larger fish, so just because they can fish everywhere, does not mean they can land all the fish. Also Travel and liscese cost would be what holds players back.
If i had to guess:
-scheduled tourneys- Where they are a set time to join.
-Unscheduled tourneys- When x amount of people join
There already said something about them... let me find the info.
It was in an interveiw back in June
"I see, I will read it precisely later, but that looks and sounds really, really good. Now let’s get to the most important question for many players – Will there be a multiplayer? And if so, whether we will be able to fish with our friends from one fishery?
Currently we have isolated the personal space of each player and your actions will not influence the other players result, but you can chat being on the same lake and location. In future you will be able to co-angle on a nicely done bass boat we are finishing now. In tournaments you can compete with dozens of other anglers, will be able to qualify as a pro-angler and will need to support the rank and qualify at least once a month. This will let you participate in elite series and so on."

If that is still included in their new "Vision". Which has no details yet.
That was then, this is now, just want to know if they are going there or not. I got involved with the Beta back in June when this information was new. but much has happened between then and now and as Tony said they seemed to be trying to protect the spawn information at that time, with tourneys in mind. It would be nice to see official Tourneys and more fisherman Stats available. But It is still relatively early in the game's lifecycle.
That vision is ancient history, they had a great game when released to closed Beta, unfortunately instead of sticking to their guns, they crumbled undeer the weight of this toxic forum and now it seems their vision changes weekly with the demands of a bunch of gamers that have not a clue what fishing is like, and a bunch of euro fisherman that think they should determine how fishing in NA should be. Why don't you all just shut up and let them create their game.
The game was good, no problem catching fish if you learned how to fish, no shortage of gold, easy to earn xp, leveling was not difficult at all. You had to tell everyone where to catch fish so they were moved, so you had to tell them again and they were moved again, did anyone get the hint, of course not, so they were removed. NOw there is no bigg fish no gold, xp is hard to get, so you cry its to hard, so they change and make it easier, and now it is to easy, They put someof the big fish back in game and what is the first dfamn thing you do? Why of course fill youtube with videos showing everyone where they are, Are you people that damn stupid that you don't know why Uniques were removed from the game.
You won't let the develoipers make any progress on developing the game because threy have to make weekly changes to keep uo with your ridiculas demands. So now we gonna demand no lakes locked with levels. and Just lock equipment and license with levels. Don;t you remember the hell that was and still is raised, because reaching certain lakes you had to reach one more livel to get license to fish that lake, Now what do you think is going to happen when all lakes are open but noone can buy equipment to fish them, or keep the fish they catch. are you that stupid that you think this is going to be Just AOK with everyone. Pull your head out of the sand, and out of your behind. Leave them alone and let them get on with their SIMULATOR.
I personally have no interest in the multiplayer option. I fish to enjoy fishing, nothing more. However I do feel it should be an option for those who seek that kind of game play.
I also mentioned in my earlier thread on the subject of a designated beginner lake, where folks with little or no cash can recoup some funds to set off again. This was also met with a lot of negative remarks. How many times are these things going to be requested by players, and how many future players that just do not understand the rules of the license, are going to continually play it, lose their money, then keep giving realy poor feedback and never play again, on what is a great little game.
I see so much constructive input and great ideas on this forum, but nothing really seems to improve. What little tweeks I have seen to gameplay, have been few and far between. And although it was fun, the whole halloween event was in my opinion, time that could have been better spent, correcting issues in playing the fish and graphical glitches. I understand the Team is small, and therefore can only do so much, which only confirms for me that Time is valuable. Decisions need to be made to pick which direction this game is going to take, and players that have supported you since the start of your project, and clearly love your work, deserve some feedback and to be told what the plans are.
Gratefully yours.
I think with a little reworking of the credit system and shops, you could eliminate exp and levels and simply have the players earn and save credits for equipment and 'trips', you aint grinding exp for levels anymore you are earning money to pay for gear and travel, more fishing simulator like than the mmo exp grind in my opinion.
It also comes with the nice bonus of making the credit packs worth looking at, pay up some real money to speed up the buying of gear / paying for trips.
