how do fish spawn?
are the fish in this game actual ai entities that swim around or do they only spawn on your rod when an algorithm gives you a bite?

as far as i know each time you cast a fish is spawned for your rod and there is a chance it will bite. they arent all swimming around in the lake though.

as far as I can tell there are spawn zones where fish "live" and they are attracted by nearby lures and bait. sometimes you can re-cast your line where you lost something and re-hook it but there are always designated zones where certain fish are. the whole game is based on the server so your and my guess is as good as anyones really.
