GRINCH 1 AWARD - TODAY, DECEMBER 23

Just fishing in Alberta, and was in the middle of landing a fish and my 1 day licence expired. Caught the fight, it said it was a prohibited species and I let it go. Promptly was fined $2000. What am I supposed to do. This is BS. I had a lovely time up until then. Have left and won't be fishing again for a while. Thanks for the Christmas present. Developers need to give leniency when you're in the middle of fighting a fish, even if you let it go. Thanks a lot.

Grinch Achievement, How do we get it?

I have heard the only way to get the Grinch Achievement is to keep a restricted fish.
Thing is, i already have all the licenses, a while back i learnt the hard way about not have them... SO i bought them all, unlimited.

So how does one get the achievement if they have all licenses?

The acievement should just be "keep" any fish "x" amount of time, if people have all the licenses.

What if you already have licenses?

I just realized i can get this feat on Dec 27, since thats when the license expires here for me.
But there are peopel who have all the Unlimited already.
What do they do, to get the feat?

Aweful idea to have an achievement that requires you to fish with improper license. There are many who have required licenses (we learned to play the game properly from day one) and will not get the achievement.

I agree, It would have been better if it was the opposite of "Saint".
Saint feat is release 10,20,50 fish in a row.

Grinch should have been Keep 10,20,50 fish in a row.

Hi. Same story with me. My license expires on Dec 27. Now... if I want to buy Christmas DLC, this will expand those licenses for PLUS 30 days. How long this achievement "Grinch" will stay? I'll grab it on February?

Lets hope they give us a way.


I just had another idea..lol.

Add another button on the "keep/release" screen called "Steal". You only can see and use it once.

LOL. The STEAL button for the remainder of the event is a GREAT idea. Would allow those who have required license to still pay the fine and recieve the achievment.

Seriously , i have not gotten a fine yet but this game mechanic seems
a poor design choice , is it to encourage people to purchase credits ?

I think this could come back to bite you and actually have a negative effect
on the game, might want to take a close look at this and see if it needs to
be rebalanced.

Are you saying the "Grinch" achievement will be changed?

A "steal" option would be fix the issue, if it can be done.

I have contacted a person from the Wiki team, they said they would remove it, But that was months ago. It can cause people to go negitive trying to get the feat.... but it does not exsist.
I have tried it on numerous accounts.
