I also managed to earn +237 BC on this event.
But I have a slightly different view on the quality of this event, as they say, "there are no comrades in taste and color."
The fact is that the old Halloween events were much more democratic, so to speak. Players of lower level could take part in them and win, a level 50 player could reach the finals and win without spending money to buy DLC, which is in the first old event, which is in the second. It was a truly massive event, with equality for almost everyone.
In the new event, starting with the very first mission - Colorado - high-level gear is required to complete - 75 and above, and the following missions take place at high-level locations, up to 83. The steering wheels are also located at the same locations, of which there are 12 instead of 56 pumpkins and tombstones from old events. The event is built in such a way that it is impossible for a low-level player to pass it for free - you need to buy DLC, buy baits.
In short, FP is increasingly turning from a widely advertised free game into a game where, if you want to play interestingly, you need to pay for absolutely everything - from a normal boat to the very last worm. There is a transformation of a good folk game into an elite club where only rich people can play, or players who have managed to reach a high level, but they also need to pay extra for a high-quality game.
Yes, the event turned out to be quite good. But in my opinion, the growing commercialization of the game and the transfer of the pleasure previously received by players from the game into a buy-sell relationship will lead to an outflow of real players and financial losses to the owners of the game.
Don't forget, programming something like this is very complex and costs a lot of money
By the way - I did this event without dlc and less than 50 or 60 baitcoins spend - so no need to sell my rewards!
Katana Soul 220 - 25....60 kg (line weight 56 - 140 g)
Tri-Flex Graphite 170 - 21.5....60 kg (line weight 48 - 166 g)
Samurai Shadow 15000 - 58 kg (max drag)
Titan Golda LWR 18000 - 59 kg
And this is not the only build. There are several other options.
Who said we were forced to sell the rewards? I already knew starting the mission that I would be selling them because I already have the equivalent or better. I did the event just to do it and got a lot of XP doing it. I don't really care to grind to get to level 90 but I got 1/3 of the way through level 88 and started the event a little under 1/3 of the way through level 87. Not bad for about 5 days of playing.
In opposite! Quite bad for 5 days of playing... 5 days at Congo instead could easily bring you to level 90 (as far as it concerns the aspect of leveling)!
If I wanted to grind for multiple hours per day for 5 days I'm sure I could, but I do not care to. Why do you always assume people want to play the same way as you? I am in no hurry to get to level 90. The event gained me a full level without being too grindy which is fine for how I PLAY.
You need not believe me but you may have a look at this vid here about the rewarded rod and reel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0DSmAs1-WY
What does that video have to do with me not wanting to grind to level 90? IFor me gaining a full level to 88 in 5 days is just fine. I am quite aware that I could get to level 90 on the Congo easily but I'm not interested in doing that. I do not care how you play the game. You are the one to always tell people they are not telling the truth just because they do things differently than you.
But my main critic point is: The devs justified the poor drop rate of baits and the overprized baits in the shop by saying "No matter if you need hundreds of baitcoins as you may rebalance it by selling your rewards". That´s official and I think that was no good as this event in fact forces especially lower levelled players to sell the rewarded rod and reel to rebalance their wasted baitcoins wether they would like to keep the rewarded gear or not.
