DLC Voyager Pack. Casting rod & reel Issue.
i bought the DLC Voyager pack so i can lvl up in the japan map and when i use the 154lb DLC casting rod & reel, and every time i try to bring up the fish, the Casting rod & Reel Struggles and if the fish is over 300llb or over it comes up to about 9 feet to the boat it just hangs over the water and dose not come up. it took about 20min and the fish will not come in. it just hovers over the water and then my reel go down to 50 Percent and it broke. i lost everything i had on the Rod. there's something wrong with this DLC Casting Rod And Reel. only the casting rod & real. has the issue. it acks like the rod and reel is not strong enough for 300lbs and over. It Struggles please Fix:steamsad:

It can be a little tough at times, but I don't remember having that happen to me. You could find smaller fish by either using smaller baits/lures or finding albacore/mahi sized fish hotspots. Yellowfin are ok to pull in but if you get a marlin, good luck to ya.

I mainly went for albacore and mahi when I first got the Odyssey pack using trolling octopus only. Plugs and squid chains will usually attract the big boys.

IMO your best bet is to what i did and look up a spot for uni yellow fin and marlin's. You can pull any of those in with the dlc pack. Also i believe the squid chain can be bought with bait coins if your not high enough level like i was and it helps target those specific fish. lastly use the baits or lures shown in the YT video if all else fails.

So well done for not helping or shedding any light on the subject. @ the reply
You know what mate, that was happening too me sooooo much when a big fish was hooked. That hanging over the back of the boat,Stuck on 5 or 9ft.
I too had the Voyager dlc.
I just packed it in and went back to the Congo to make the last 5 lvls.
Do I think it's a bug?? Most certainly.

Exactly its a bug the devs need to look into this, and fix this issues with an the next update/Patch. i also went back to Congo to finish the rest of my lvls to 83. still a ways to go to lvl 90 but i can only do it in congo.

Hi same issue ... the line is 15kg (30 lb) and the reel with 10.5 kg friction is litterally "vaporized" ... better delete account and find another game

i hope this issue will be fix soon, i bought the DLC pack for two reasons 1, so i can lvl up to 90. and second is to enjoy the japan map. i enjoy the love of fishing even if its a game. i fish in real life also, but i cant enjoy it if the casting rod & reel has issues. Please fix this. :steamhappy:

I use the 154 lb. spin rod and reel with 158 lb. line and 165 lb. leader all the time and have no issues. (anchored and luring only)
Sure some fish fight harder and takes time to bring in. Also the the reel is much faster to reel the line in if the fish runs back on you.
I rather use that gear than the casting crap. Casting distance way to short and mainly used for trolling.
Using octopus and squid chain or live bait setup. I found the live bait you can cast up to 250 ft. out and better results with it.
