Mutant loobsters

Started the monster grouper mission withh a friend, but we struggle getting those mutant lobsters, i've spend like 2-3 IRL hours fishing now, and got 1, are they really that difficult to get?
we use a #4 hook with clam/musel bait, but GEES thoose lobsters are a bloody pain.

Try casting to the left and the right of the boat when parked near the rocky shores. Also, visit all 4 island markers (ie, catch a few and move to the next). Good luck.

You will have more luck with a 3/0 shiny lure. Well that's how I got them. Just keep it moving gently along the sea bed.
Essential to visit a different spot if you get nothing in 5 minutes.

I used a hook #2. Mutants are caught very quickly if, after catching each lobster, you rewind the time forward by 3-4 hours. Thus, you can catch 2-3 mutants in one game night. It requires expenses, but it saves a lot of time.

Bad advice! This should not count then as the task requires bottom rod equipment with mussel meat or meat of the molluscs as bait!

I caught mine here: 1151,71/ 800,64

It is not necessary to cast directly at the rocks just to the rocky ocean bottom in front. My cast distance was between 28 and 31 meters. To my experience if you hit the right points there you will directly get snagged as soon as your bottom sinker hits the ground. Otherwise you can instantly cast anew. No need to move the bait slowly over the bottom - either directly snagged or nothing! It may take some time but it can be done there without need to forward time after a catch or to change places. The monster mission requires using clam/mussel bait. Are you saying the mission counts mutant lobsters caught with lures?

It's not cheating. I had caught 2 mutant lobsters on clam and for 3 days(game) ,I didn't catch any more. But, I was catching some Spiny lobsters. So I changed to a lure , blue, thinking these are counting as catching stuff from the bottom, in game challenge, all waterways.
So imagine my surprise when I caught a mutant lobster next cast. And it counted on the mutant bait .
