Fishing together shrimp mission

So I have been at this pretty hard since they fixed it and thus far I have caught ZERO uni sized amber jack, GT, or narrow banded mackerel on a darn shrimp of either variety. I have hit every location in which I have caught unis in the past with no luck whatsoever. I have tried everything from 4/0 to 14/0 hook sizes on bottom and suspended, even tried slow trolling them. Has anyone had any luck with this mission and if so what the heck am I doing so wrong?

I have however caught half a dozen uni AJs on the pilkers while waiting for the shrimp to hit, which tells me two things. 1 my uni spots still work, and 2 the devs don't actually play their own game, because this is madness.

Yes, I did some scouting solo but I am absolutely fishing with friends, and none of them have made any progress either.

I have yet to have anyone on my boat so haven't started those missions yet. Just thought I'd ask the obvious question..lol

I agree with Luke. I had a similar result with trying to catch squid with a pilker at my 5 squid uni spots. I tested the spots with my normal squid jigging lures and caught them like crazy. Then I tried to catch them with a pilking lure and I only caught one adult squid. The last three missions (Hunt: Trolling, Hunt: Pilking, and Hunt:Shrimp) are extremely difficult to a point where they are frustrating to say the least. Anyway, I am at the point where I think the most experienced players have the best chance to get these missions completed because they are able to purchase the best variety of equipment. So, I created a club called "Fishing Together" for level 90 players. With that said, hopefully a few of us can get together and unlock the secrets to completing these difficult missions. My in-game name is club.president if you wish to include me in your fishing together expeditions. Thank you.

I agree with you, the task is really for...

We in the club started with the pilker for red snapper and believe it or not I have only caught 3 of them and that was only during peak season with a 7/0 pilker on the bottom with up and down.

These two missions were really not well thought out by the developers and should be revised in my opinion.

There are several missions that seem to be a lot more challenging than they should be. Yes, I chose the word challenging where the missions are called "Challenge". Ok, so it's a challenge, but I find some of them absolutely frustrating. Need to catch a uni amberjack with bucktail? Not a one, but you catch them like crazy on aything else. Just not what you're supposed to catch them on. I'm getting through the missions, but some of them have been absolutely frustrating.

The missions were gone for me too. I wrote a ticket to support with my in-game ID and the next day they were visible to me again.

Me and a friend of mine started the shrimp mission, so far we caught 265+ fish to get the Jack Mackerel, and only gotten 5 of them, this mission is really starting to annoy me

There is a mission on the Japan map where you have to catch a variety of trophies and uni sized fish on shrimp as bait, only issue is after many hours of trying I don't think those larger specimens even hit on shrimp, I know I am fishing the right places and times because I am catching those fish on other baits and lures just not on the shrimp sadly, it seems the mission is broken.
