At what point is it worth getting a boat?

I got a kayak as soon as I could. I'm not a fan of the raft type boats so I never bought one of those. I waited for a Bass Boat.

We can't cast from a kayak though. Is it useful enough to get to other spots that can't be reached on foot on enough maps to be worthwhile?

Looking forward to being able to get a good Bass Boat and eventually that nice Ocean Cruiser.

You can cast from a kayak in fact there is a Challenge to catch fish from it.
IF, and WHEN, they fix the bug with the boats there are also other kayak Challenges you can do. These Challenges pay BC and x-series gear and most have 3 levels.
Click on your name where it shows your level and money. More will get added and they are the random popups you see as you unlock them.

At first I missed that Kayaks had an anchor. Need to drop that to pick up a rod. Bought the Tritone Adventure Kayak and finally caught a Trophy and Unique Sauger in the kayak today.

Thank You for the info about the challenges also, did not realize there were unfinished ones since for some reason they are at the bottom of the list instead of the top.

You don't need to anchor to pick up your rod. Just press R. There is a challenge that you complete by being pulled a certain distance in a kayak.

No problem. The Challenges are another thing they don't bother to tell you about and it is surprising how many high levels still don't know about them.

I have the kayak only so far... and I can't say I like it much. I have a 3 rod stand so using the kayak means I got 3 lines less in the water, that's huge. I haven't really got more fish when using the kayak either so... I dunno... meh?

You currently can't buy those with in game cash.

Went to read forums about the DLC boat.
A boat that is not very good for real money In a fishing game.
Hope the Ocean yacht is better.

Its the same mechanics really but on the ocean boats you can have friends fish with you on your boat i believe.

The boat you get from the carnaval pack the blue one is awesome.

I started getting use to using at least 2 rods, sometimes 3. Can't do that on the carnival boat.
