How to get started?
Ok....I bought this game several years ago and only was able to play it for about 20 hrs. I just uninstalled it and then re-installed it to be certain I have all the current files.
I tried to play it but not sure how to begin so I looked it up on yputube. I then tried again....
Unsable to play this game and I am not sure why?
Do I need to pay a fee for a fishing package or a fishing licence or both? or is there something I need to do? Please advise?
Many thanks!

It's a steep learning curve if you haven't played the game before.

You NEED to research the fish that will be at the location you're travelling to, in order to make it a worthwhile trip.

You NEED to plan what to take for rods, reels, lines, leaders, baits, lures, hooks etc. for EACH fish.

Start your planning here: https://wiki.fishingplanet.com/Main_page

For the first lake, Lone Star Lake, you have most of what you need. To get started, open that wiki link and look at Texas {Lone Star Lake }, and open up tabs in your browser for each fish, so you can alt + tab in and out of the game to check things, like hook sizes, baits, lures and areas to find certain fish.

When you go to buy a rod and reel { so you can cast out and do retrieves back to you, using lures etc. } You need to match the rod "line weight" with the reel's "max drag" as close as you can. { So the rod and reel will carry about the same load, to maximise your ability to reel in fish }. The game is setup to have your rod "slightly" stronger than the reel, and the reel "slightly" stronger than your line { or leader, once you progress to needing leaders }, so if a fish takes up all of your line, you only break the tackle { lure/ bait and hook at the end of your setup and not break your rod or reel }.
