Competitions need a fix.
Currently to many amateur competitions. Most are cancelled due to lack of participants. Add in that this Thursday there is a block 5 in a row from 3pm uk time. This creates a lack of content for established players. Maybe move to a seperate tab, similar to how the custom comps has its own tab. Another option would be using the ranking points to establish who is an amateur, not the in game level. What is needed though is content for all players of this game.

Lack of variety, seems about 50 odd competitions, We could do with at least four different competitions for each lake, from the lowest to the highest.

Each each competition seems to have 2 variations, good or bad weather. Fish spawn at set times in each one. If you cannot make more for each lake. At least make the spawn times for each comp different. Rather than goto point A catch a fish, move to point B catch 2 fish.

Some lakes have competitions that do not include fish that have been added after the release of the lake. Black Drum as an example.

This has been an issue for years now, and devs have previously said they take a "look" at it. Dont expect any changes im afraid...

uh oh you said the naughty word in the devs eyes. Good luck getting anything fixed with them. If they don't generate money for them then they don't care. Just keep pushing out broken maps and broken gear to keep that money coming in.
Upvote, in case it helps, some day...

Competitions for amateur class are disheartening due to frequent cancellations. As an amateur with a small cash pool, showing up to an event a little ahead of time to scout only to have the event cancelled really sucks. I use the events not only to compete, but to have an extra 30-45 minute of prime fish time for cash farming. Additional cash farming time per day is important to pay for travel and licensing tax to competition regions.

More open events like cat fishing in certain regions are a great way to earn cash even though you know there is no way an amateur can compete even with an expensive DLC. For instance, the heaviest fish keeper available via DLC to an amateur is about 440 lb. However, if the major rule is the most amount of fish weight in your keepnet, a 440 lb DLC keepnet is no match for the 1000+ lb keepnet of a master fisher. I don't mind that I won't measure-up as a lowly amateur in these kinds of open events, at least I can exp and have additional prime fishing time during the day to pay for travel and licensing costs.

Amatuer comps need the minimum entrants lowered for sure, Getting 20 anglers of the correct level, able to afford to travel from a different lake, are all problems. On the travel to practice, personally I would advise to watch you tube, to find where to fish. Do not travel to a comp unless it has at least 20 people in, if you decide to practice. Also normal non amateur comps open at the lake level. ie catch em all is level 3.

Every canceled amateur compitition is a also the loss of a normal competition that could of been used as promotional material by streamers. This is the main reason I suggested a seperate tab for them, rather than removing them totally.

On the net size there is not many compitions that are by weight, or keep, that require a huge net. Most tournements are like that though, keeping your ten largest fish. The heaviest keepnet in dlc is 550lb, which is still not large enough for a tournement recently.

Agree - would like to see some updates made with the comps.

Been creating some competitions everyday, sad no one ever joins. They all want the ones who gives baitcoins so amateur get ignored.
