Rod - RIVERTEX Dracospin (Golden dragon dlc)
Reel - RIVERTEX Dragonus (Golden Dragon dlc)
I'm using fluoro 0.6mm and crankbaits hook 4/0 and 3/0, alternatively with medium spoons 4/0
The best set up is a rod stand full of bottom rods and another in your hands (that's going to be between 2 and 5 rods, depending on your level). You want the absolutly heaviest bottom set up you possibly can use at your level. Note that the Leader is going to be your biggest limiting factor. You need a Titanium Leader or else you will loose a LOT of fish and gear. So, you want bottom gear that is heavier than the heaviest Titanium Leader that you can possibly accuire. Titanium Leaders are one of the few pieces of gear that I would recomend spending Baitcoins on. Otherwise you are not going to be able to effectivly Farm places like St. Croix.
Thanks a lot
There are very few things in the store that cost baitcoins that can't be bought with game credits at later levels.
Just my opinion, but you are over reaching at level 20, going to higher level locations with weak current level gear, regardless of the dlc.

Focus on the Largemouth Bass. You may or may not be able to handle the Peacock Bass, and the Gar and Snook will wreck you gear (at level 20, anyway).
Get the heaviest duty Match Rod you can. I would recomend Titanium Leaders just in case you get a Gar on, but the Bass are fine on Floro Leaders, if you don't mind loosing the ocational odd hook. Shiners (if you can buy them for regular game cash, NOT with baitcoins), or the best worms you can afford. Fish peak hours at night. Set your Leader deep.
You can also get some good results casting around the upturned rowboat (you can't miss it, it's to the left of the dock at the Largemouth Bass hotspot). I prerfere night peek hours, again, and a Glow-In-The-Dark Worm. If you can get a Carolina Rig, that seems to work best, with Texas Rigs and Tripple Rigs, in decending order. If you can't get a Rig yet, don't worry about it. A plain Jighead and Worm will work well enough. Let your worm sink to the bottom and retreive slowly, preferably with the Lift-And-Drop method, or, if you have trouble with that , Stop-And-Go method. Again, you should be OK with a Floro Leader here. Just don't use anything from a DLC, an X-Series Lure, or anything bought with Baitcoins without a Titanium Leader.
The equipment from the golden dragon dlc is awesome, I'm making 20k a day (30-60min RL) fishing northern pikes with a crankbait 4/0 I already figured out how to increase the biting. I was asking for advice to fish in saint croix and that lakes because the dlc comes with that lakes licenses and permits and wanted to try them. Thanks for the help theevilfatguy gonna try that.
Thanks for the reply, I'm not using weak level 20 equipment, I'm using golden dragon equipment, heavy spinning rod, that dlc comes with a really good set of 3 rods and reels, so I can fish 20kg of unique northern pike without problems, I'm level 20 but I'm not using the baitcoins to buy gear, I'm saving it to buy licenses. Only taking advantage of the dlc to making money, because I'm getting low experience due to the great equipment.
But if you've got some 32lb gear or better, go for it man!
Just for comparison, I do remember that when I was in the early 20's, I was loosing gear to to Unique Largemouths and Peacocks (not often, but it happened).
