Blacktail Shiner description

So I am a new player and still trying to catch Blacktail Shiner in Lone Star Lake and did everything on internet said (fishing in vegetation, water lilies, using right bait, etc.) but I still didn't catch it. What's weird is the description of the fish itself said "... most usually abundant in areas with little vegetation and fast current." but the location itself has no current and the suggestion on internet always said fish in vegetation. So is the description incorrect? Or what it means is "just fish in the vegetation"? I thought the description told us to fish in the water with no vegetation at all.

May see small bubbling ripples,
