the label for the elusive arapaima: 394.64 ; 279.84
Time: late evening; weather: sunny; bait: large minnows.
According to other players, the inscription about "strong fish tackle update" began to appear only after the last update. Apparently, you need to contact the developers.
When I caught this monster, I had a rod SpellLauncher 290, reel Torbellino 9000.
I'm not even sure if mad eye is POSSIBLE to catch after the major update. I caught it before on my PS4, some time ago, and it was hard but it didn't instantly snap the brittle line like this. Has anyone caught it since the update? Maybe I should try it again since the most recent patches, perhaps it was fixed, haven't checked it out since. (Snapping the line six times in a row was a bit rough a while back, haven't gone back to try again since haha)
Were you using really high level gear? If so the minimum drag for the reel was probably higher than the line strength of the invisible line. Try using gear that is more appropriate for the fish you are going for. I honestly don't remember if you have to use a match or bottom rod for that mission, but a decent feeder rod setup would work well.
I'll have to check it out again, I didn't think the rod strength mattered tbh, since the line itself didn't have specific stats. You're probably right, I'll have to look up how big the fish is and try again with a less powerful rod and see if it works, thanks!
It's the reel strength that matters. If the reel is too big then the lowest drag setting is probably stronger than the strength of the line being used. I seem to recall that the line strength for the Mad Eye mission is equal to 4 pounds but I don't really remember for sure.
You're probably right. It's been 4 years since I did the mission on my main account. The only Monster Fish I've done on this account is the Mighty Benga.
Same, I caught it first try on Steam but missed him on Windows version first time.
