Bad in game tip.
"remember to use a flashlight when fishing at night." Fish don't have retiners or eyelids, so a flashlight at night will scare fish. If you need a flashlight, always use a red filter.

In some Mediterranean countries night time fisherman out in boats use white lamps to actually attract the fish before netting them. I've seen it done.

If you ever dived with manta rays it's done at night so them lights are used to attract plankton and manta rays come to feed on them plankton, plus you wouldn't be able to see them without lights... During that show other fish come to feed on plankton as well and they don't care about the lights or people with flashlights 100 feet 20-30m underwater.

Floating fishing lights, submersible fishing lights and others — are used for night fishing? And yes they Do help.

That isn't a thing in FP. I would recommend RF4 if you want that kind of realism in a fishing game.
Not that it pertains to this game but anyone who has pier fished at night knows that lights shining into the water attracts bait fish which in turn attracts game fish. Especially salt water fishing piers.

Some species of fish have a false eyelid called an adipose eyelid. It is found in shads, for example. Its purpose is not known but it may filter light entering the eye.

I'm someone who used to nightly pier fish with my buddies, but because of my age & illnesses it's no longer possible. I just want to thank you for providing a loving memory of those frequent events and making my day. Happy Holidays to you & yours.
