Brutus 11'10" (3.60 m).

Brutus 330/10'10" (3.30m), as it costs cash rather than gold to buy and repair.

cheers guys took the brutus 3.30 for the sake of gold for repairs ,now another question which is the best float for distance using shiners for bait

You cannot use the 0.28 braid on the 6500,because the line test is higer then the reel.So you brake your reel if a fish spooled you.

i thought it would be ok everything matched when i installed the items

so more money spent on things that should match up,why dont they make it clearer and colour code the things that can go together?

You can! All you have to do is to set drag accordingly (10/12).

Beside that, Brutus 3.30 may costs credits instead of gold, but has a better bending curve and that is essential during fight with a big fish (fish gets tired faster). Not talking that the targeted fish are "big pike and muskie" and an unique pike gives enough gold to buy a new rod, and still have some to spare.

Surely if you get spooled then the drag is no longer functional anyway and the reel will indeed break.

DoublePunch gets 230 meters (750 feet) of 0.28 braid. I didn't find a fish capable to take all this line. Did you? Very unlikely, tho.

Some bugged fish can take over 250m and break you with no problem. It is a rare occurence on Casting setups but it happens.

Also if fish is fine but you are not careful in managing it and especially if fish is big (17kg+ Trophy Muskie or 14kg+ Uni Pike) it can escape.

Even with Brutus 360 \ DP 6500 \ 230-250m of 0.28 braid you are vulnerable to this except if the bug is not happening on float rigs. Didnt see anyone complain yet that fish escaped from float hook like a torpedo, usually it is a Heaviest (GC260, V7000\GC 6500, 0.28 or 0.5 Mono\Flouro) setup when fish takes the crank and torpedoes out.

Yup, happens on float rigs too. Brutus 11'10, DP 6500 +.28 braid, hooked a uni pike and off he went. No bend in the rod, 761 feet of line, gone. BOOM. Broken reel (well, altf4 actually)

Well, using that setup i landed few seriuos pike (biggest 37+ lb.) and few 45-50 lb. catfish with not a problem. I must be very lucky (because i know i'm extremelly good :p).

lol......yeah, I have landed a few big pike, sturgeon & cats with it too (I must be extremely good too then :p) but if you get a bugged fish there is little you can do but watch him sail off into the sunset.

If i want to use a balanced but max (in my opinion) out setup i use the Brutus 360, EspiraDoublePunch 6500 and the flouro 0.45. If i want to max out a reel i normaly do not use all drag settings (max). I use max the second last drag setting. With this setup i can set max 11kg drag. The rod has enough back-up in power. Why should i use the braid 0.28, the mono 0.5 or the flouro 0.5? With all the last mentioned lines i just can set the drag to 11kg too. The use of heavier line is not essential and just can cause a broken reel if i am not able to handle the fish. Where is the benefit of using stronger line? ( Of course: Yes. This is an r-question...)
