If your not hunting specimins you can cast lots of places a prime example of this is walley in ny if you fan cast all along the back of the lake you'll for sure get more fish than if you just cast at the 1 tree same goes for most places aslong as your not uni hunting.
Once one finds a spot they tend to stick with it but that does not mean they are not in other spots.
Uni's are the most "spot specific" and even then there are more than one spot for 'em.
Can one play like he wants ?
If that's what you choose to believe. It sure isn't always the case.
I have seen all the videos as well. So, when I fish tourny I know wehre to cast yet I never catch what they do. This means there is something else they are not showing. Meaning there is more than 1 place.
Important to make the distinction between 'competition' and 'tourney'. Although only 1 yet to be completed tourney how they work is much more akin to regular in-game fishing where competitions are not.
You can call semantics all you like but the simple truth is in the game they are very different.
Its like that irl one spot outshines other spots usually once you know your area.
Going anywhere else would be waste of efficiency irl aswell.
