I've read a lot of the guides and watched some videos but have really been struggling to find those bowfin. What is your setup for catching bowfin?

i heard the alligator gar spot with a 99inch leader and medium cut / largecut bait works nicely for bowfin

Agreed.

If you are floating and only want to target Bowfin, I would suggest only using cut bait, as it keeps others from biting.

Same setup as the catfish, just a different spot. You know where you stand with the two boats, cast to the right of the lillies and further out about 85-90 feet, close to the opposite shore

Here is a vid I made last week about the bowfin in Missouri. You can catch them with jigheads too, btw, at the line of reeds on Last Songs of Summer.

Thank you Lady of Games! I caught two regular and one trophy this morning using advice from your video.
PinkPantha I'll try that spot using Lady's setup and see what happens.

Fish for cat at the lilies and you're guaranteed a bowfin :)
