Bunch of Carp question ( Europe Lakes )
Hi all , have a few questions re the new carp setups. This is for Euro Lakes only. I have no problem getting carp in US lakes , but on the Euro lakes I struggle. The bite rate on carp is extremely low on all the Euro lakes. So far I have only used normal bottom rods with normal hooks and feeders for carp. Been away for a few months and came back to this new carp specialised setups and have a couple of questions:

1. Does the specialised carp hooks increase the bite rate on carp ? ( Carp hooks , leader and feeder )
2. Does boilies increase the bite rate on carp ? ( So far only used cream corn and peas ) Boilies are expensive and high level , but do they actually up the bite rate to make them worth it ?
3. Can I use boilies on normal bottom setup , only exclusively on carp hooks ?
4. Do ground baits up the bite rate ? Just like boilies the carp ground baits are very expensive , do they actually increase your bite rate on carp ? I read that some say yes other say it makes no difference.

So far the Euro lakes have me staring at dead rods too much so much so that I don't even want to go to them anymore. I love carp fishing and if I can find a way to up the bite rate on them it would be great. Don't mind spending the credits to get specialised carp setups and baits , but will it increase the bite rates , that is the main question.

Thanx

The answer to all your questions is yes, if you are using the dedicated carp set-ups you will catch carp, specially in the UK lake. I fill a 300kg net in 1 game day (sunny) easily.

1.and 3. I don't believe they do, but must be used for the bollies and pellet baits. They also should not be put back in the rod holder with a fish on as they almost always get off.
2. You will only get carp on them. Choose the right one for the right time and you'll make more than your money back easy.
4. Yes, coupled with a Spod rod. Choose a spot, and search the area for holes or some sort of feature. Put (about) 5 spod rockets loads on that spot, now cast the carp rod with bollie bait to the same spot. I usually use a method feeder with the same groundbait in the spod rocket. After an hour (in game) another spod may be called for. The size and quantity of the carp seem greater when using groundbait like this.
This example is with Weeping Willow, England in mind.
Hope this helps.

I have far greater success in Germany using float rods than bottom rods.

Haven't even tried the carp rod setups yet.

Germany is my biggest headache. I can't catch any proper carp with bottom rods. Just the bigheads and silvers on float.
I will get myself a couple of carp setups and see if I can get better common, leather, mirror there.
Willow is not relevant for me yet , I'm lvl 46 so can't fish there yet.
Germany is my main concern , if I can get proper common, leather, mirror there to complement the bighead and silver then it will be a great lake for me.

Thanx for everyone's input. The carp setups works very well in Germany. Only had time to do a single day but I did so much better with carp hooks , groundbait and boilies than I did previously there. Was definitely worth it to get those.
