Groundbait
I've just started experimenting with groundbait. Been pretty uneventful to say the least until today. Think I'm starting to get the idea. However I have a couple of things I'd like to clear up. My latest mixes seem to be pretty good but they don't seem to have any real longevity so.....

How long does the groundbait effect last in the water? Is that time linked to quantity thrown in or quality or both?
If the time is related to quantity then how much do I need to keep the fish on the boil for say 3 hours of ingame time?
If it's quality then whats the minimum level of quality (an example mix would help) that has an effect?

Thanks in advance for any and all answers.

Don't stay in the same spot 2hrs max or 220lbs 100kg fish in your net, I would spod 10 times and 30 minutes in game time spod 5 times more and repeat. You will see less and less fish and their quality decreasing at this time move to next spot preferably another lake.

Believe its more to do with experimenting and trials,
number of times spods at the spot,
river types, observing the water movement, puddles and fishes dancing,
repeating the spods, resetting or switching map to refresh.
Can be hard to quantify or put into exact words of equation.

The pros would mix up several kinds of each groundbaits packs, aroma, ... etc, specific from Carps/ Bream to boost the effectiveness.

Novice, still in practice.

Thank-you both. Appreciate the replies. I had 400lb in the net before it went quiet, 10lbers or less. So I'll stick with my mix and get moving!

For clarity when you say 'spod 10 times' I'm assuming max size spod, I will have to change my rod.

Just experiment with what you have and if doesn't work increase your spod in size. Sometimes I throw spod 5 times before the rods and 5 more right after and sometimes I can't even complete the last 5 because fish is on....

I pretty much did what you suggest. Started with 4 rods, BIG mistake. Ended with 2 and spodded when I got time. Need to upgrade my bottom rods though. 35lb is just not cutting it.

Try to use octopus hooks instead of carp hooks you should be able to juggle rods better.
