Absurd delay when playing with a friend.

I just got this game solely to play with my friend, and when we finally get in to a server together, there is an absolutely horrendous amount of delay between movements. (At least a 5 second delay at any given time) and we are running 1gb/s internet.. This is game-breaking for me.. Is there ANY way to fix this? Or should I just uninstall?

I haven't noticed that but there is an anniversary sale on right now, buying dlc's, tournaments etc, could the servers be busy with that stuff and slow your game down?

Yes, that happens in the friends only room as well.

Yes, there is a significant delay. I noticed the delay when setting off fireworks with a friend in the same room; however, I don't think there is any way around this delay because when you do anything (ie, cast a rod, set off fireworks, etc), that action has to be sent to the server and then sent back out to your friend's PC (who is visually in the same room). IMHO, this appears to be a multi-player game but it really is not in the truest sense.

This is true, you always see people holding their fish before it comes up in the chat box. Sometimes it even comes up on the chat box before you see them holding the fish.
