Leveling
Hello fellow fisherman. I've been away from the game for a while. I finally come back and the level cap has literally doubled. I'm sitting at level 42 and it seems like it's taking forever in between levels. At this rate I'll never reach the max level cap and later game stuff. Any advice out there on leveling faster. Thanks.

buy a congo discovery dlc and fish it the whole 30 days

i agree,
while there, try for the goliath tigerfish (best for xp?), and the nile perch.

I suggest getting a years premium instead as it'll last a year and you'll gain a lot of xp and cash. Also if you buy the congo dlc you'll only be able to use 2 rods max as your normal gear will get spooled if you try it. But your choice.
Get to UK as fast as you can and fish for the carp with big boilies on big hooks and pva, you'll soon level up that way. I did in no time.

i manage to use three rods at a time with no problem. (2 in thjr rod holders on the boat and a third in my hand, or i use a rest that will hold 3 and i have to admit i havent been spooled once yet, BUT some of my biogger fish have gone a fair way away.

+1 If you are really interested in leveling up quickly. I went from level 45 to level 80 in 15 days or less (I don't remember the exact day level 80 was reached); however, if you are in no hurry to level up, the Count's recommendation may be a great alternative.

I preferred the 30 day DLC choice because I was able to also rack up 6 million in silver. After that, I bought every possible rod I could need. If I remember correctly, some uni nile perch pay 64k silver and 32k xp. You won't find that anywhere else in the game.

Good luck with any choices you make.

I mainly hunt tigers in the Congo transfer over 3 days (days only) (NOTE not all the hours in each day) I make over 600K of xps and nearly 1 million in coin.

So, I bought the congo DLC and leveled for a while, but RL got in the way and I couldn't do the entire 30 days. Is there a second best option for leveling up by chance? I got to 63 and around 6 million. :(

That's the advantage of buying years premium over dlc pond packs - premium only applies when you get the chance to fish, and you don't have to sit at your computer for 30 straight days!

Uh, are you absolutely sure about that? I bought a 30 day premium and it has a 30 day expiration date? I think it expires after the purchased duration whether you fish or not?

I'm pretty sure he just worded that wrong. He probably meant that if you have the year of premium then you don't need to fish for 30 consecutive days to get your money's worth like with a waterway DLC. They put a year of premium on sale a few times a year for 50%-60%. Last time I got it it was 60% off. That's a pretty good deal . To me anyway.

That's how mine was. I can't access Congo anymore and am around level 63. Maybe I still have premium though?

Not unless you purchased additional Premium before or after the Congo DLC. If you already had Premium, 30 days would have been added to it with the DLC.

That's the one big problem with this game, you have to play it like a career or you'll never see the higher level waterways. I started back in 2015 as soon as it was released, played it casually all these years, and I'm at level 48. I have hundreds of dollars in DLC because I thoroughly enjoy this game and I want to buy the Congo DLC (mostly for the boat), but I've never seen it on sale. As soon as it gets a discount, I'll pick it up and power level as far as I can just so that I can go back to fishing casually wherever I want.

If you look at my original post I said buy a YEAR premium (ideally in a sale). That beats any 30 day pond pass.

I only read what you wrote. You made no reference to look elsewhere. That statement was self explanatory and required nobody to think about looking elsewhere. It was just poorly written/worded as one other person mentioned.
