Has anyone caught a Congo monster with a "Shaman Duck Lure"?
I failed a monster mission in Congo and lost 4 "Duck Lure". After that, the Power of Blood mission succeeded and get 3 “Shaman Duck Lure". However, time was over on the next Mighty M’Benga mission(Limited to 4 hours). But now the Mighty M'Benga mission can be done. Right now we're on a Mighty M'Benga mission. My question is that you can't catch monsters with "Shaman Duck Lure". I tried for 2 days, but I can't catch monsters.

Can't say, caught it with the normal duck lure so no secondary mission(s), might have to use your last normal duck lure, from a boat at the Waterfall Roar peg (using the electric motor to chase it) and applying side pressure to try and steer it into a area where it can't manoeuvre properly (I ended up catching it amongst the islands between the Hanging Bridges and Bomuna Settlement pegs).

I saw a video that states "you only have 4 hours to catch the monster with the Shaman duck lure." Now, is that 4 game hours or 4 real-life hours? If 4 game hours, you would surpass the 4 hour time limit (maybe) if you forwarded time to the next peak day/night time:

Friend, several players failed to hook the monster with the SHAMANS duck bait in the second mission (power of blood) and not even in the third mission (which appears when the 2nd mission fails). Looks like there is a bug and the monster doesn't "recognise" this bait

I even sent an email to game support reporting this problem.
I think it is advisable that all players who are unable to catch the monster with the SHAMANS duck bait also send an email to the game support.

i tried using the duck lure bought the 2 dlc but found even then the rod and reel was just not good enough, ok catching nile perch over 300lb you could turn them and a bit of a fight to get them in but this M Benga monster just takes the lure and runs all 4 spooled out could not turn the fish at all total waste of time needs to be looked at, 1 player did catch it 170lb fish ran towards him and he did the old trick no anchor down. must be bugged or done deliberatley , after all you can turn nile pike over 300Lb but this smaller fish you cannot.

Maybe the M'Benga has supernatural strength due to it being possessed by a evil river spirit.
Casting from a boat (not anchored) might be your best bet (you might also have to set foot on the Waterfall Roar Island peg before trying to catch it from a boat).
I used a Casting setup because they are said to have better stopping power than spinning setups.
(Tropicana 220 rod, Bailarina 8000 reel, 0.36 mm Braid (40 kg/88 lb) and a 0.49 mm Titanium leader (43.5 kg/ 95.7 lb).

I used the same setup and got it in first hookup. Strange fight definitely, towed me toward the water fall and pulled out a total of 470ft (140m) of line, but then just gave up and skated
all the way in.

My mission flow
1. Duck Lure mission
I succeeded and get 5 “Duck Lure".

2. Battle With Mighty M'Benga mission
The monster was easily hit, but I couldn't catch it, and I lost 4(Maybe 3?) “Duck Lure”.

3. Power of Blood mission
I succeeded and get 3 “Shaman Duck Lure".

4. Mighty M’Benga mission(Limited to 4 hours)
At this time, the mission failed because the monster could not be caught within 4 hours.

5.Mighty M’Benga mission
challenging this mission. Equipped with a “Shaman Duck Lure".
I tried casting in the possible areas, but I can't catch monsters for 2 days. Normal African Tigerfish and Gollath Tigerfish are often caught.

The 4 hour timer is real-life time. The timer will continue to advance even after you quit the game.

I've also emailed support now.

hi for me just tried that same set up far better than the spinner, had the fish online over 1 hour real time got it in to 20ft then it run out the line to 710, then back again no mater what i tried still the fish in the end just spooled the line of that reel is not really powerful enough or the fish is over powerful, just got bored not bothering to keep doing that lol only good thing was i also caught some uni goliath tiger fish, now going to just leave the 3 duck lures in the home base not wasting anymore time trying to get that one, back to getting nile perch.

The support team escalated this issue to the development team.

[All Platforms except mobile] Congo monster missions fix.
Missions to catch the Congo monster are unique.
You have one attempt to catch the Congo monster in the mission Battle with Mighty M'Benga (there were 3 attempts before). If you can't fish it out, you'll get the Power of Blood mission (to get the Shaman Lure).
We also fixed the mission for re-obtaining the Shaman Duck Lure "Congo River - Power of Blood" - the fish in the tasks are counted correctly.
Also in the mission Congo River - Mighty M'Benga, the bite of the monster has been increased.
