Fish don't get tired
Do the fish ever get tired when you try to bring them in? I hooked into one, fought it for an in game hour, and never got it closer then 100 feet. What gives?

I had a nutjob arapaima fight 5 in game hours once, it came in eventually. The fight system does feel a bit random at times. I was spooled by the elusive arapaima recently, hooked it at 40ft and it took off and never came back. By and large though, the vast majority of catches seem to be about right. The odd crazy livens it up :)

there's no fish out there that will last that long.
they need to code in some hard caps on this or something...

every other fishing game through out video game history had a stamina meter on the fish . someday one of these devs will actually go fishing and find out they actually do tire out .

Setup can be Key with the stamina you talk about. Just a hint? But i'm sure your Setups are Perfect. ??

Make sure you balance the tackle strength with the fish you are after always. Not just line but rod and reel too.

I agree - 5 minute fights are boring from a game play perspective. The fights are too long in most cases. I don't mind a fight for uniques, but a 5 minute fight for a common catfish? No thanks. Some attention needed in this area please game devs.

The trick is to realize there are 0 fish or fighting mechanics. You can constantly reel or just hold down both buttons and you will reel it in.

You don't pull the fish or bring them up they seem to ride on some predetermined path. And once the timer clicks over you can reel them in

Yes you can fight them if you force them to surface they will come in faster. specially things like pike 7kg pike spend 5 mins fighting it under water.
force it to surface pull it in 30 seconds.

Also i see many people doing the wrong thing.
Winding the reel while the drag is clicking and fish is pulling off line,
You never do this even in real life as it only increases the rate at which they take line as the reel turns against the drag and will do nothing to help you.
only wind the reel when they stop pulling n taking line just like IRL.
