even the lowest level spinning reel in the game is better then any spincaster
As a kid I had a Zebco Spincast reel on a Zebco Rhino rod. One day I hooked into an 8 pound plus Bowfin. It completely trashed the real. My dad had to put gloves on and pull the sucker in by hand.
I was 6 years old, I was not intending to catch a Bowfin. I don't know what test the line was but the drag mechanism took a crap while I was trying to get it in
