Unlimited licenses
they cost fishpoints and are extremely expensive, how you can afford them? I mean, I have 8 fishpoints right now, level 10 and completed the first 2 lakes quests and to buy the unlimited license on rocky (third lake) I need 20. Where I find them? Or is most cost-efficient to purchase a single day license? What do you do?

You'll have to save up your baitcoins to get a unlimited advance licence. Competitions, Challenges, Missions, logging in and levelling up (as stated above) are the best in-game ways. Until then buy an advanced 1 day and don't bother with a basic licence.

Rocky's price is nothing. Check out the price tag on the high level lakes. Insane.

you need to plan your trips carefully, don't stay at a lake/river for 1 day and leave. stay for 10-30 days. ( just quit the game, never leave)
so take plenty of bait, rods, hooks, line et cetra. my last trip was 22 days worth over 800k

That's not the issue , the issue is the license that expires. Makes it extremely difficult for players with little real time per day to play. If you constantly have to rebuy the license without enough real-time to make it count you still end up loosing money no matter how long your trip is as you constantly have license expenses without enough real-time to make up for it. The licenses makes it near impossible to play the game for someone who have say only 90 minutes per day to play.

I am such a player with limited time to play and recently I started a new character on Xbox when the game came to Xbox. I played for a couple of weeks and just stopped completely because of this very issue. Not enough real-time to make expiring licenses count.

i understand the issue, and yes, very hard to play a game with limited time.

I brought an unlimited license for Texas as it's only 5 bait coins which means I can fish there as much as I like for free, great for fine tuning new methods and baits and also good for topping up your income. I had around 40 bait coins anyway, you get them for all sorts of things like dragging out debris from lakes and catching a certain number of one species, they're not that hard to amass. Means I can always fish FP without spending any money if I've got a spare 30 minutes or something.

Did you say Texas, as in Lone Star? That lake has always been 100% free.

Not the Advanced license. You actually do have to buy that at Texas as well.

As Maz says the advanced license is not free. Now I've got totally free fishing at Lone Star forever with no restrictions. Great for amassing xp and funds.

Having an Advanced licence for Lone star, Texas is good for getting enough money together for a trip to either New York, Oregon or Florida where the money and fishing is better. So I would recommend considering a Advanced licence for one of these waterways as well. (Italy could also be an option, but I personally think the peak fishing times are to short. Or even the Netherlands if your into feeder/bottom fishing).

And there is a lot of challenges you can complete at just Lonestar and get baitcoins that way. Lots of various ones from panfish challenges to bass to night time to bobber to lure to fish per day to crappie. When I recently started a new profile on the Xbox version I stayed at Lonestar , concentrated on challenges I could do there and left for the first time at lvl 12 with enough baitcoins to buy New York unlimited advanced. ( 50 )
