Download Fishing Planet at the Microsoft Store

Looks like its the XBOX/PC Anywhere version.

So I downloaded it (9 GBs) and installed it and it starts off exactly like the steam version; however, I quickly found that you can see other players but you can not see anything they catch (in chat) or communicate with them (in chat) so its a no go for me. I think you need an xbox gold subscription to get the multi-player working; however, if you like to fish alone, and watch others without them watching you, then this version may work perfectly:

Maybe because I don't own an xbox one or have an xbox live profile? Every user I looked at had an xbox live profile but my user did not show that option. In fact, it looks just like my steam user version. So, do you have an xbox live profile in that game?

Also, if I remember correctly, you originally had to link your PC to your xbox one via wifi to play xbox one games on your PC; however, this was a direct download to my PC so I thought it might be different, and because it specifically states it is for xbox one or pc, I figured I'd give it a shot.

UPDATE:
OK, I created an xbox live id and signed into the game with same.

Now, everything works as designed:

Strange that the PC version works without an xbox live gold subscription because it appears to be required for multiplayer functionality on the xbox one console:
