Unable to catch Halloween monster gar

Any advice? I went to Florida, because one of the monster gars are supposedly supposed to be their, tried minnow, crawdad, shiner, and eyeball, only catching normal Florida gar, I'm fishing at 10pm night, right now at lily pad channel.

Turn to your left, there is an old overturned boat, try fishing close to the lily pads in that general area (including at your feet). (That's one spot, there are others).

I have 66 so far. Fishing in everglades at night, middle spawn on the freshwater (left) side, go to the end of the dock and cast bottom rods with the bone hook (vulture? cant remember but whichever one is right for the florida ones) and you aim for the lily pads on the far side of the water - you want to land just in front of the lilies so you don't get snagged but still be a little bit away from them. Catching them on all the baits you mentioned with no issues so far.
