You have a keepnet that can hold 4.4 lbs of fish and a single fish that weighs 2.2 lbs can be kept... a fish over 2.2 lbs will be too big to keep. The 0.000 will show you how much fish you have in the net.

I presume this is where the fish go when we keep rather than release, if so what happens if or when we catch over 4.4 lbs of fish or a 5 pounder?

Then you need to Forward the time one day in order to sell your catch. Or just release everything else you catch.

if you catch a 5 pounder you have to release it. if you catch a 2.3 pounder you have to release it. It's really not that complicated.
