Close to losing all my money, spending multiple days in amazon and caught only 1 bull shark now and nothing besides that.
Beyond frustrated
Would rather catch sharks for xp and money.
Forget the shark for now and catch some of the medium sized fish to make money first, then go for the bigger ones when you've banked enough.
You are going to waste your 30 day pond pass and premium fishing for sharks. Arapaima and Trahira will get you xp and money faster than sharks. Sorry you don't want to listen to people who have been fishing there since release. Good luck to you.
1. The net I have is in the 900 lb. range so it cannot hold high XP Uniques.
2. The young Arapaima I was catching gave less XP than the young sharks. Arapaima were giving me 800 XP. 3. The young sharks were giving me up to 3,000 XP. 4. I got more money from the young sharks than the young Arapaima.
So I don't know how catching a fish that gives me less XP and less cash is not listening to someone. KP Shamino's videos show the same, young Arapaima giving him less than young sharks. Though I keep following these youtube videos and going to these spots, [which takes forever to get to in that maze of a blue map] but I finally get there and fish at the time recommended on the video, and the exact weather pattern, and if I'm lucky I might catch one fish there [the fish that the video shows the youber catching over and over and over again] I might catch one if I'm lucky, a small one, and that's it.
I'm not finding Brazil to be anything like California or Michigan where you just catch the fish over and over and over again and load up the net.
You spent real money, on a DLC, to fish a level 68 map, that included a time limited pond pass and a time limited licence, and now you are not happy with the out come.
The game is free to play, and you could have just leveled up at no cost !
Honestly I should have waited a few days before asking for help on the fishing planet/ steam forum. But within a few hours of playing I was beyond psyched out, so I started playing Jul 7 and July 9th I'm settling in a little. Too bad they don't have the access to Brazil somewhere in the 50 range, like a Level 58. I can't remember off the top of my head what level you have to reach is it 68? Either way, hitting in the high level 60s will take a long time to reach for me.
Anyway apologies.
So apparently the devs have it setup where a monkey can come out of the jungle, climb up on your rod stand and sit, make noise, and then jump down and run back into the jungle.
According to the following, the monkey can steal your gear

Quote: But take care and dont leave your rods unattended: local monkeys are very curious and are always ready to steal a fun item just when youre not looking.
