I have been grinding my tail off to get to lvl 54, I see people playing for only 13 days at lvl 65.
I am trying to figure out how you can play the game for only 13 days and get to lvl 65. Am I the only one who see this and ask why is it. If you look at the weekly exp. You will see players at high lvls but only been playing for days. I have been at it for months and still only as of today made lvl 54. What gives?

Premium and long daily hours will let some people level up really fast. That said I am not in a position to judge individual cases.

a lot of those are 2nd accounts so they know where to go and what to fish for
griffintwosix Nov 7, 2020 @ 1:31pm
Yeah but I still do not buy it. Have you tried to create a second account and get that level with only 2000 fish total. Thats like getting a new lvl with each catch. I say BS. Unless they get their account wiped out, but leave them at that lvl. Which would be stupid on FP Devs part.

Something is weird with his profile because it says he has been playing since 1/10/220 which is January 1st since the profiles list month first. Also his best red ear and green sunfish were caught in January so he hasn't been playing for only 13 days.

The days in game metric is completely useless and measures nothing.

I currently have:
476 hours ingame (steam hours)
167 days ingame
lvl 59

I've tried all the possible math to try and convert that 167 days into my playtime, and it makes zero sense.

- 167 days refers to IRL hours --> 167 x 24 = 4008 hours --> obviously not as i only have 476 hours ingame (steam is correct)

- 167 refers to total ingame days --> 167 x 24 x 15/60 --> 1002 hours --> not even close
(In-game hours is 15 IRL minutes)

- 167 days refer to how many days you spend at lake --> impossible as my last 4 trips combined are already over 200 days.

- 167 days measures the amount of days since you started playing --> i've been playing since 10/3/2015 (dont know if thats october or march) but its alot longer than 167 for sure.

Unless someone else has a working theory about this metric, im pretty sure its just a nonsense stat.

Ok so if you look into my stats you will find that I started playing 8/23/2020 (mm/dd/yyyy of all that I see this is how its labled). 73 days, exp lvl 1434157/1562425 (Dated today) Fish Caught 4626 Common 3674 tpy 789 uni 163.

Now lets look at player dwadawdawd Lvl 59 start play 2/10/2020 days 19 exp lvl 2475805/2500250 fish caught 4306 c 4218 tpy 86 uni 2.

Now explain to me why I should not be at a higher lvl than this dude/dudess for I have caught more tpys and unis than this player.

I still say BS. We can all see that the stats are trash! Or we can see widespread cheats all over the stats. Devs need to pay attention to the little details.

Looked at the persons stats and what worn
They have golden DLC, can see the rod case in profile, and white sturgeon are thier biggest fish. They have hammered white sturgeon in California. That is why they have very few Trophy or Unique fish. They have 30 day premium and access to california from that dlc alone.
You and I do not know what other DLC the person has, they could have at least another 2 heavy chasers to grind with from other dlc. Using this until they are level 50. Then they could of gone to 5 x 57lb set ups.
Maybe the question should of been why did You did not ask best way to level up.

Do you have Premium? Have you had Premium for every single fish you have ever caught? You can't simply compare numbers of fish when you get 50% more XP for having Premium. My suggestion is to worry about you because you have no idea how much money someone has spent on this game.

I've had premium the whole time I played, and yes I got golden DLC, Saltwater DLC, Rainforest DLC. and paid for 30 extra days of premium. So before you hammer me again on not knowing a thing. Look at the stats that can not explain how he got to that lvl in such a short amount of time and with limited fish counts. The counts are listed and if you do the math, you will find that it does not add up to that lvl. Assuming he started at lvl 1 like to rest of us. DLC or not.
von Driesen Nov 8, 2020 @ 12:57pm
As I said with golden pack its very easy to do, even easier if he has bottom power and sports bottom pack. He farmed Sturgeon in California. Thats why he has so few trophies and uniques.

4000 white sturgeon are around 2400000 xp. Thats the Maths, thats also what his profile shows, the evidance is there. Never seen the guy in game, in twitch or elsewhere. I just looked at the profile same as you. I looked at all of it, what gear he had fish and achievment records.

Also already explained this above.

You need to look at what the person is catching as well, both people you have quoted have very few species caught and some of those are not at the highest level, suggesting accidental catch. They both have Insomniac III, NIght Shift III both Catch fish at night. Maniac III catch 300 fish in a day. San Joaquin Venturer III 30 days in cali. No others so I presume its fished. Sturgeon Master III, 250 sturgeon caught.

How do you know how many of this person's common fish were White Sturgeon which give excellent XP and are classified as common fish? You can not go by numbers of fish to determine what level a person should or shouldn't be. Also dwadawdawd stared playing 2/10/2020 so that is not a short time. I started 4/13/2020 and am level 65(2). If you want to level faster you should spend more time fishing for fish that help you level higher instead of worrying about other peoples stats.

The DLCs that they have bought gave them a huge shortcut, jumping to big rewarding fish=leveling up quickly

a friend of mine that was new to the game bought the golden pack to jump to some lakes like the st croix and moose lake to fish a long with me and in a space of a few days reached my lavel that is 42

There are level 36 players on the level 63 River . I saw in the chat text the guy said "Wow that fish gave me a complete level "
Bargearse Nov 11, 2020 @ 2:31pm
I believe DEV is finally doing something about it but very low level players, and others, were going to Marron River, (level 63), and using the "Marron River Glitch". This allowed them to walk into the water and grab fish, mainly unis, and carry them out. This, along with the messup that was made of it earlier, is why the "Ranking System" means absolutely nothing to me.
