Some rods can handle a little more than they are rated for but just because it didn't happen doesn't mean it won't happen.
In any event, it's much cheaper to have your line being the weakest link than having to repair or rebuy a new reel or rod.

Well if you are admittedly using a heavier lure ( 2 grams above the limit ), then common sense should tell you to use a lighter lure.
But then again "common sense" isn't common, is it ?

Part of the 3.0 update from March 10 / 2016 makes specific reference to using a "balanced" system or else you may cause damage to your equipment.
