What to do when you're out of money?
I can no longer afford to go anywhere to fish, and I don't know an effective way to earn money. Any advice?

Only go to a lake when you know you will have a minimum of 6 to 9 hours real time , within a 24 hour real time window to play. Remember 2 things: 1. You must stay at least a minimum of 2 in-game days and preferable 3 in-game days at a lake. This is to make sure you cover all costs and make decent profit for progression. 1 in-game day is not enough ( with the exception of Michigan ). I tested all lakes and on average ( depending of your keepnet size and size of fish you target ) it takes between 2 and 3 hours to complete an in-game day. So it will take 6 to 9 hours to complete 2 to 3 in-game days ( filling your net 2 to 3 times ). This is especially true early game when you mostly target small sizes fish. Then it takes longer to fill your net. Now remember that the license you have to buy will expire in 24 real time hours. So if you travel to lake , buy license , you must make sure you can complete at least 2 ( preferable 3 ) in-game days before that license expires. Otherwise you will have to re-buy the license again after expiry and that will drain your money and get you broke. The license system is by far the biggest flaw in the game. 2. DO NOT target big fish at low level early game. Big fish like catfish pays very poorly and fills a small net fast. You will not make profit from big fish at low level. Do your homework on a lake , check which fish pays the best per pound and target them. Leave big fish like catfish for when you are high level and have a 440lb net. For example , the very first lake that unlock ( Mudwater ) has catfish. DO NOT target them at low level with small net. They will fill a small net fast and they pay so badly that you will not make proper money. Always target money fish until you have a huge keepnet. And this rule of thumb is for every lake. Later on when you are high level with huge keepnet then you re-visit the lakes and go after the big cats etc.

Try not to buy everything and travel everywhere just because you have a dollar in your pocket to spend at your curent game level.
Self-Restraint on spending.
I know this is not what you want to hear.
But its the truth!
Would it be easier if they just give all of us tons of unlimited money?
Maybe this would give all of us the self-restraint we need.
"NOT"
Your not the first player to be in this scenario (Welcome to that Club).
Texas is beautiful this time of year.
You'll get yourself out of this.
We have confidence in you.
Have fun.

Make sure you log in everyday to collect daily bonus 1500 after 4 consecutive days, and fish like a porper and only buy what you need and not what you want, avoid traveling save up money and plan where you intend to fish next. Fish in Texas where it is free to travel and stay.
