Items that break
As we all know if we break an item that can be bought in the shop such as rod/reel it becomes junk that is only fit for the bin, infact any item.

A Question for the Devs

I have never read anywhere on the forums or in any patch notes regarding DLC content which was payed for with real money such as the rod and reel, if this is broken what happens then, will they be automatically replaced?, sure items such as lures and lines obtained with the DLC will have to be a shop rebuy but the rod and reel is not because they were a skinned item and these items are not for sale in the shop unless you replace it with the same shop rod or reel but then it is no longer a DLC item, do we have to rebuy the DLC in order to get back those items that we have already payed for with real cash?, (if so, then yes this game is just a money grab) and our currancy is not worth the paper it is printed on and neither is the DLC that was bought in the first place.

(another question for the Devs).

If any part of the above is true regarding the rod and reel not being automatically replaced, (example ROD), because the rod can be used as an exploit for the broken rod achievement, if this is the case then such DLC content (the rod) should not be included is this achievement and the achievement can not be obtained in this way so both items should automatically be replaced as it is a real cash item.

Was wondering this when using my Candy Cane Rod which I think is about a 26lb line rod, at the time on this day I had a big trophy lake trout on that was close to being a Uni weight that took ages to get in, while fighting the fish the thought of the rod breaking due to the bend of it and the damage caused, came to mind, and so did the above question, if it had been a Uni that the rod could not handle.

To my understanding and test just a few minutes ago DLC poles, reels etc can be repaired if they break and are at 0 durability. If you want a direct answer from the devs I can try, might take them a bit to get with you.

ive broke dlc once before quiet a while ago (before they made it repairable) and with a simple email with just a tad of groveling they replaced the dlc (im sure they would have replaced it without the groveling too ) :D

See ? again one of those many many many many things I just state that infos NEEDS to be in game accessible...
It used to be unrepairable.... now it IS repairable... still many state it's not... or think it's not because it has been stated in older vids they are not...

I mean really.... adding new content is nice and needed... but a polished game needs much much much more than new content... and currently FP lacks polishing the most basic things like infos (scrollable text, up to date text on game's infos... etc) so to the devs... when you ask premium prices.. we are due as gamers premium polished parts in game too....

It would be a good idea to know these things, ease of mind that if it breaks it's no big deal and the item is replaced.

I have only used one account to play FP and if I had more DLC I would use it to experiment using slightly lighter gear at other lakes, thats if I had other DLC content, without knowing is another thing that stops me from buying more DLC when there is something that I would like to have.

I will direct KillerWhale to this thread. I have tested breaking the rod and reel of the Sport featherlight. Both were 0 durability after the break. I left the lake, clicked on the wrench icon and both were repairable. So this test doesn't show that for all DLC is fixable after a break, only one rod.
