Trips- Can I log out of game and continue trip later?

OK I want to buy a 4 day trip. Does the trip timer allow me to log out of game and continue where I left off later or does the trip timer run out when I am not in game? I can't play more than a few hours at a time. THANKS

I think trip still counts when you're loged out. But you can do just 1 day trip instead and just extend your trip (using time skip) if needed. You dont need to go back to global map just because your 1 day trip is over.

*edit: If you log out you will still be on the same lake when you log in again though. Make sure to also buy new license (if it has expired) when you log in again. The time for license will continue to count even if you're loged out.

I always just buy 1 day and expend it so if I need to go home i dont waste money
